WHAT WE KNOW AND WHY
PRIVACY POLICY
Last updated: July 17, 2026
This site sells one book and is built to know as little about you as possible. This policy says exactly what is collected, where it goes, and how to make it go away. The data controller is the author of The Cheat Codes to Everything You Want, publishing as Sovereign; contact is by reply to any email the site sends you.
1. What we collect, and why
- Email address, when you buy, request the free chapter, request a download or review link, or start a checkout. Legal basis: performing the contract you asked for, and consent for anything promotional.
- Purchase records (email, amount, currency, country, Stripe identifiers) when you buy. Legal basis: contract and legal obligations such as tax records.
- Marketing consent, stored with the wording you agreed to and the time you agreed, only if you tick the optional box. Buying does not require it.
- Reviews: the rating, text, and display name you submit, tied to your purchase so "verified buyer" stays true.
- Aggregate analytics: page views and conversion events without cross-site tracking, via Vercel Analytics. No advertising trackers, no data sales, no third-party ad cookies.
2. What we never collect
Card numbers (they go directly to Stripe), passwords (there are no accounts), and anything you did not type into a form on this site.
3. Who processes data for us
Four processors, each seeing only what their job requires: Stripe (payments and tax), Resend (transactional email), Turso (database hosting), and Vercel (site hosting and analytics). Payment data may be processed outside your country under the processors' standard safeguards.
4. How long we keep it
Purchase records: as long as tax law requires. Lead emails: until you unsubscribe or ask for deletion. Download and review tokens: they expire on their own. Unused checkout attempts: pruned periodically.
5. Your rights
Wherever you live, we honor the strong version: access, correction, deletion, portability, and objection. Unsubscribe links are in every marketing email, and one click ends them. For anything else, reply to any email from the site and it will be handled by a person, without a form maze. If you are in the EU/EEA or UK you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.
6. Cookies
The site itself sets no tracking cookies. Stripe sets cookies on its checkout pages for fraud prevention; that is governed by Stripe's policy. Because there is no cross-site tracking here, there is no cookie banner theater.
7. Changes
If this policy changes materially, the date above changes and subscribers are told by email. See also the Terms of Service and Refund Policy.
